Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Audiologist to join our ENT practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for improving patients' quality of life through diagnostic assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of hearing and balance disorders. The Audiologist will work closely with ENT specialists, patients, and their families, providing comprehensive audiological care in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Diagnostic Assessments:
- Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions testing.
- Assess vestibular function through balance testing and other specialized assessments.
2. Treatment Planning:
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on diagnostic results and patient needs.
- Recommend and fit hearing aids and assistive listening devices, ensuring optimal patient education on device use and care.
3. Patient Education:
- Provide thorough counseling on hearing conservation, communication strategies, and the implications of hearing loss to patients and their families.
- Educate and train patients on the use of hearing aids and rehabilitation devices.
4. Collaboration:
- Work closely with ENT specialists to develop integrated care plans for patients with complex auditory and vestibular disorders.
- Refer patients to other healthcare professionals when necessary for additional support and care.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting assessment results, treatment plans, and progress.
- Prepare reports and communicate findings to other medical professionals and patients.
6. Continued Education:
- Stay informed about advancements in audiology and ENT practices through ongoing professional development and training.
- Participate in staff meetings, case discussions, and other collaborative efforts within the practice.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from an accredited institution.
- Licensed Audiologist in [State/Region].
- Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous experience in an ENT setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of hearing aids, cochlear implants, and vestibular assessment techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages.
- Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant technology.
